Here is what we know at this point:
- Her bone marrow is clear; no leukemia thank God.
- She has masses on her neck, chest and in her abdomen.
- The masses are limited to her lymph nodes throughout parts of her body.
- This is considered stage 3 Lymphoma, and is still very treatable.
For more information on this disease, see: http://www.cancer.org/cancer/non-hodgkinlymphoma/detailedguide/non-hodgkin-lymphoma-staging
From what little research I have done, the fact that she is up and about (not confined to chair/bed) reads very highly in her favor of treatment, as well as the fact that she's under 60.
Also discovered, one of her vocal chords has been paralyzed. Not sure if it was due to the earlier surgery or not, but I think it likely since she talked fine before.
And, her surgery has resulted in some form of hematoma that needs to be aspirated (sucked out) to allow it to heal.
As we get more information we will post it. Thanks again for all the continued prayers and heartfelt thoughts.
